Oats Rava Idli

Oats Rava 
Good Morning!
Oats Rava Idli is an easy, delicious recipe perfect for a breakfast/ tiffin time.
Ingredients:
Oats - 1 cup
Rava - 1cup
Curd - 1.5 cups
Oil - 1 tsp
Green chilli- 1 finely chopped 
Ginger - 1/2 inch finely chopped 
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Asafoetida- 1/4 tsp
Curry and coriander leaves- finely chopped 
Baking soda- 1 pinch
Salt - as per your taste 
Method:
# Roast Oats for few seconds and pulse in a mixer jar.

# Add oil in a kadai, add mustard let it crackle well add green chilli's, ginger, Corriader and Curry leaves scared well...add rava and roast for few minutes. Let the aroma come out well.

# Whisk curd add coarsely grounded Oats, roated rava with tempering, salt, asafoetida, 1/2 cup water. Mix well. Let it rest for 15-20 minutes.

# Steam the idli pan. Grease the idli plates with oil. 

# Add Baking soda to the batter whisk well.

# Pour the batter in the idli plates and steam for 15-20 minutes.
Once Oats Rava Idli is ready serve with some chutney.

Kasi Halwa

Kasi Halwa 
Good Morning!
Kasi Halwa / Poosanikai halwa is a traditional sweet prepared for wedding menu in SouthIndia specially in Tamilnadu. 
Kasi Halwa is made with grated white Pumpkin, sugar, ghee.
Ingredients:
White Pumpkin- 1 cup
Sugar - 1/4 cup
Ghee- 3 tablespoons 
Cashew + melon seeds - 1 tablespoon
Cardamom powder- 1/2 tsp
Yellow food colour few drops
Method:
# Heat a pan add 1 tablespoon of ghee, add the grated Pumpkin and saute on medium flame. Make sure the water evaporates and it becomes completely dry. 
# Add sugar, food colour and cook on medium flame....it will become watery. 
Let it become a semi solid consistency...add Cardamom powder mix well and switch off the flame.
# Heat ghee in another pan fry cashews and melon seeds pour to the halwa. 
Make sure you do not over cook after adding sugar...as it may become  hard / crystallized.
Serve hot or cold.
